ABOUT US

Our Mission

Gatlinburg-Pittman High School develops students of character, competence, and commitment by fostering a community where individuals pursue excellence, support one another, and take responsibility for something greater than themselves.

Our Vision

Gatlinburg-Pittman High School will be a place where tradition and purpose shape the future, where every student is challenged to grow in knowledge, skill, and character, and where graduates leave not only prepared for college and career, but equipped to lead, serve, and represent their community with pride.

Our Values

At Gatlinburg-Pittman High School, we value:

  • Tradition with Purpose: We honor those who came before us by continuing their standard of excellence.
  • Community over Individualism: We succeed together. No Highlander stands alone.
  • Commitment to Excellence: We are dedicated to providing a challenging and engaging curriculum that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Equity: We believe every student deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.
  • Collaboration: We value the partnership between students, families, educators, and the community in creating a successful learning environment.
  • Innovation: We embrace new ideas and approaches to teaching and learning that prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century.
  • Honor and Integrity: We conduct ourselves with honesty, transparency, and accountability in all our actions.

Our Beliefs

  • At Gatlinburg-Pittman, we believe:

    • A school is more than a building. It is a community of people working toward a shared purpose.
    • Every student has a role in shaping the culture and legacy of this school.
    • Excellence must be pursued in all areas, including academics, career and technical education, athletics, arts, and service.
    • Responsibility is not given lightly. It is entrusted, and it must be earned and upheld.
    • Students grow stronger through challenge, accountability, and high expectations.
    • True pride is built through hard work, discipline, and consistent effort.
    • Relationships matter. Support, trust, and shared experiences create a sense of belonging.
    • Education should develop not only knowledge and skills, but also character, leadership, and resilience.
    • Graduates should leave prepared for the next step in life and grounded in the values of this community.
    • Being a Highlander is not just something you are in school. It is something you carry for life.
